Hi, my name is Dani Anderson. I am a 10 year old student at Gerber Elementary school. This is my second year as a member of El Camino 4-H and also my second year selling a market goat. I have gained a lot of experience and confidence in 4-H from participating in our monthly meetings and project presentations. I have learned how to clip my goat "Willy Wonka", trim his feet, and set him up correctly for showmanship. Sometimes he could be difficult. He did not like to take a bath, and would jump on me or try to run away from me, but the more I walked and worked with him the better behaved he became. I feel if I had been able to show him at fair I would have had a good chance to place well In showmanship. In mid February Willy weighed 57 lbs. By the time he is placed in the auction, I estimate him to weigh around 80- 85 lbs. I hope next year to be able to show at the fair. I plan to raise a market goat again and also show a pygmy goat. I hope I do well on my goat this year so I can pay back the money I borrowed to buy my pygmy goat and also buy another goat for next year's fair. Thank you for reading my project description.
