Hello all you virtual buyers out there! My name is Makayla Lodin and I'm pictured here with my pig "Dean". I am 10 years old and in the 4th grade at Richfield School. I am a member of Flournoy Paskenta 4-H and this is my first year raising and showing a market animal. I chose to raise a pig because they are clever little animals and my pig Dean, which I am excited to share with you today, has a personality just like my dog! Ive spent countless hours feeding, watering, bathing and just hanging out with Dean over the past few months getting ready for the fair. Raising and caring for Dean was a big responsibility, more than I realized as a first year member, but it taught me several new skills like budgeting and tracking expenses, animal care and safety, and lots and lots of patience! Thank you for supporting me and all the other young people raising market animals this year, we appreciate your support!
