My name is Danielle Esparza and am a student enrolled at Corning Union High School. I am very fortunate to have this opportunity to participate in the FFA project of raising a market swine. This is my third year participating in the FFA project and just when I feel like I know everything there is to know, things change. Unfortunately, this year the Tehama District Fair has been cancelled due to COVID-19, but our fair board is dedicated to ensuring our Junior Livestock Auction will still happen. The pandemic has brought about some barriers, but I have worked hard and have raised a great hog. My hog, Gilbert, is a cross bred, barrow, currently weighing well over 270 pounds. I thank you on behalf of the Corning FFA Chapter for your continued support and your consideration of my market swine and for taking the time to read my letter.
