My name is Chris Patterson and this is my third year in FFA. Currently I hold the position of Red Bluff Chapters Sentinel. I've been raising swine for five years. My love for raising swine started when I was in the 7th grade. My dad bought a pregnant sow and we raised it until it birthed eight piglets. I knew then, as I held those newborn piglets, that I loved the pig farmer life and that I would continue to do it for many years to come. This will be my third year showing swine at the Tehama District Fair for FFA. I participate in many of the Tehama Shooters Associations activities and events with my family. I was also a part of Tritons Swim League in 8th grade and then Red Bluff Highs swim team for two years. I made a choice to become more involved with FFA, which led to me to leave school sports for my Junior year. Through FFA I have expanded my interest in welding. I am also fully investing in my future while in high school. I am part of Red Bluff High Schools Firefighting program. This is a two year commitment in which I will learn many skills and gain much experience. Upon graduation next year, my goal is to become a Fire Prevention Officer. This will require me to attend both a firefighter academy and law enforcement academy. Beyond both academys I will pursue a Bachelors Degree.
