Lot # 163 - Tag 864 - Kinsey Woelfel
Comments:
Hi, my name is Kinsey Woelfel. I am 12 years old and have been in 4H for 5 years. This year I was an officer and participated in many projects and countywide events including a very active horse project. Along with caring for my horse and market hog, I am responsible for my cows, dog, chickens, and goat. It has been a busy year! This is only the second animal I have raised for the fair. Last year I brought a meat goat to the fair, but this year my brother and I decided to try hogs. My hogs name is Mosi. He is a Hampshire. He weighs about 280 pounds and acts like a big dog. It has been so much fun raising him. I am disappointed that I will not be able to show him at the fair, because I have worked with him a lot! When he first came here, I was thinking there was No WAY I was going to let him out of his pen, but now I love walking him around the yard and exercising him in the field. One thing I have learned is to not let our pig know where the treats come from because he wont forget!I will definitely consider raising hogs in the future. They have the best personalities. The hardest part of the project will be having to say goodbye to him, but I will not miss their mess!Thank you for your support.
