Lot # 164 - Tag 865 - Cade Woelfel
Comments:
Hi! My name is Cade Woelfel, and I am 10 years old. This is my fourth year in 4H but my first year raising a market animal to sell at the fair. I was really excited to get my pig and a little nervous to show him at the fair. Now, I am disappointed that I might not be able to show him. The pig I will be selling is a Hampshire, and his name is Boss Hog. He weighs about 280 poundsthat is about 220 pounds more than I weigh! I am glad he is gentle and pretty easy to handle. My sister and I walk our hogs around a ten acre field almost every day and sometimes they chase after our cows. They flop down in the mud afterwards and let us spray them with the hose. I would love to bring a hog again next year. They have great personalities. They are friendly, cute and curious. My sister gets to pick the animal species we will bring next year (I think she will pick a pigfingers crossed!). I will breed my boer goat just in case she picks a meat goat. The hardest part of this project was feeding three different pigs three different amounts of food. Our leader, Greta, lent us some panels. She sure saved the day. Thanks for considering my hog and supporting all of us kids.
