Hi, my name is Hayley Powell and I am a 6th grader at Evergreen Middle School. I have been in Tehama County 4-H for 2 years. I chose lambs for my first market animal. My lambs name is Marli. He weighs 136 lbs. It has been a fun, yet chaotic learning experience for my first-time market project. Raising a lamb, I have learned many different things like, feeding them twice a day, vaccinating, docking a tail, sheering, bracing, walking, and the anatomy of the sheep. If youre wanting to change the food you should slowly add it to their food and get them used to it so they dont get sick. As far as raising my sheep this has been a particularly good experience for my first year of a market animal.
