Lot # 230 - Tag 138 - FFA Reserve Champion Market Steer - Tanner Kerr
Comments:
Hi my name is Tanner Kerr and I am a freshman at Red Bluff High School. This is my 6th year exhibiting a market steer and second year participating in Red Bluff FFA. This year I have a Charolais cross steer that I am very proud of. He has been a great eater and good gainer, averaging about 3 pounds of gain a day. This year in FFA I had 2 supervised agriculture experience projects in addition to my market steer. I worked as a ranch hand at Bengard Ranch and I also have a small herd of Hereford cross cows. I also received my Greenhand award along with my discovery award. Other hobbies that I enjoy include hunting, participating in High School rodeo, training horses, and working on the ranch. This was my rookie year in High School rodeo and I ended up winning rookie of the year for District 1, and was District 1 Reserve All Around. I compete in tie-down roping, team roping, cutting, and reining cow horse. My favorite event is the tie down roping. My favorite job on the ranch is calving heifers and training my young horses. This year I have two young horses I am working with; I love the challenge of working with them and watching them learn.
