My name is Ellie Matthews and I am a Junior at Mercy High School where I serve as the Mercy FFA Chapter President. I am selling my 10th market animal this year, my steer Chip. I am grateful for all the opportunities 4-H and FFA have provided me. From public speaking to leadership roles and everything in between, these amazing organizations have encouraged me to push myself and take risks. With the skills I have developed through FFA and 4-H I have expanded my businesses from eggs to pies, and now to a successful custom beef business. Upon graduating high school, I plan to attend Cal Poly and major in animal science, pursuing a career in agriculture.
