My name is Maddy Nissen, I am seventeen years old and a junior at Willows High School. I have been apart of the Willows FFA chapter for three years, and currently serve as the chapter president. This is my eighth year raising market hogs and I am so grateful that although the Glenn County Fair has been cancelled, that the Glenn Ag Expo has provided this opportunity for youth like myself to be able to exhibit and sell our animals. My market hog is named Kobe and we have spent countless hours together walking, washing, feeding, and bonding together. Showing and raising market hogs has taught me responsibilty, time management, work ethic, and how to market my market hog prospects to potential customers. From being a buyer of show pigs to a show pig producer, I have gotten the opportunity to understand the hard work and commitment it takes to raise market hogs. After graduation, I plan to attend Oklahoma State University and double major in Animal Science and Agriculture Education.
