Hi, my name is Austin Baylor. Im in 8th grade and this is my 5th year in 4-H. Along with 4-H enjoy anything in the outdoors, and hanging out with my friends. My family and I have bred and raised our own pigs the last three years. My 4-H experience was a little different this past year. We kept a gilt that we raised last year and bought two more breeding gilts, totaling 5 that we bred for this year. We had a total of 45 piglets in which we kept 6 and sold 39 for the Glenn, Silver Dollar, and Tehama county fairs. This has been a fun learning experience full of hard work. It has given us the opportunity to learn how to operate a small-scale farm. We are excited to see how our pigs do this year at the Glenn Ag Expo!Thank you to all who put on the Glenn Ag Expo!
