My name is Owen Morales, and I am a member of Lake 4 -H club in Glenn County. I am ten years old and Im in 4th grade. I am in the robotics club at my school and I really enjoy it. I live on my familys rice farm in Glenn and I like how quiet and open it is. I like to ride my bike on the ditch roads and go exploring. We often spend free time mountain biking and hot air ballooning.This is the first year Ive been able to sell and have raised a hog. I purchased my hog, Samantha, in January and have spent 3 hours a day, 3-4 days a week with her since then. Ive learned many things this year, including how much I need to feed in order for her to weigh at least 215lbs by fair, how to walk and exercise her, and how big of a pen she needs. Ive enjoyed raising her and I cant wait to raise another pig for fair next year.I feel bad that the fair had to be cancelled, because this was my first year that I can show and sell an animal. Last year I showed a rabbit but was I too young to sell her at fair. I feel good that I can show and sell Samantha with the Glenn Ag Expo though.
