My name is Chance Ward and this is my first year showing a steer. I've been in 4-H since I was 5 but this is the first year that I'm old enough to show a market animal. Please meet Henry. He is a Hereford steer. I showed him this Fall and Spring and he is my favorite showmanship animal I've ever had. I've shown heifers since I was 5 but I really like working with Henry. When I first saw Henry, I knew I wanted to show him. He is so gentle and sometimes he is a little stubborn. Especially if he doesn't want to go to the wash rack. I learned how to fit his front legs this year and I learned to clip his front end. I rinse him a lot and keep him in the barn so his hair looks good. He really likes to be in the barn on hot days.
