Lot # 91 - Tag 39 - Ryan Chapman
Comments:
My name is Ryan Chapman and I am 15 years old and a Freshman at Willows High School. This is my first year as a member of the Willows FFA Chapter. I have spent the last 5 years raising Market Lambs in 4-H, but this year after a lot of negotiating with my parents I was allowed to switch my market project from Lambs to a Market Steer. This was the best decision that I have ever made, I have never enjoyed raising an animal as much as I have this year. My steer is a Black Angus Steer that I have named Cletus. I purchased Cletus From the Stoltenberg Ranch, and I couldnt have asked for a better steer for my first year. He has been absolutely amazing to work with, and he has the funniest personality. Cletus has been on a diet of 6 pounds of Artois Grain and a flake of good quality grain hay twice a day and as of May 8th he was weighing in at 1200lbs. This year has been such a learning experience for me and even though with this Covid-19 pandemic things have changed and I will not able to take him and show and sell him at the Glenn County Fair I am still very proud of myself and all the hard work I put into raising him.
