Hello, My name is Henry Schmies and this is my market lamb named Luke. I am twelve years old and a member of the Schaffert 4H club. This is my first year doing a market lamb project. Luke is a Hamp-Cross weather and he was born in early October. I have been taking care of Luke since January. I feed him twice a day and make sure he has fresh water. Sometimes I will give him a sugar cube as a treat. I have spent a lot of time with Luke and have taught him to walk with a halter. Four to five times a week I walk Luke, put him on the stand, and then practice showing him. My favorite thing about my project was spending time with Luke and learning how to brace with him. I have learned that it takes hard work and dedication to raise an animal but its worth it.
