To persist in anything undertaken to maintain a purpose in spite of the difficulty and continue steadfastly=perseverance. This is a skill I have gained from COVID-19 and the challenges it presented. I am Leanndra Rash, a proud 4H member. 4H has provided me with so many great experiences. I have taken projects like sewing, sharpshooting, archery, vet science, and market lamb. I have been raising lambs for the fair for four years now and it has been a fun journey. I also have my own flock of sheep that I started with a bummer lamb years ago. Now I am able to breed my own lambs for fair and provide lambs for other 4H members. I have enjoyed the challenge of trying to breed lambs that fit the judges preferences. This year was going to be my first year bringing a weather lamb to the ring at fair. I usually bring two ewes and keep one to add back to the flock. Im lucky to have Al Viera as my mentor with the lambs and stock dog training.I am 13 years old, and my favorites sport to play is basketball. I like to spend my free time riding horses or practicing with my stock dog, Guetta. I do many things around my familys ranch such as feeding and vaccinating the cows. Im looking forward to taking some riding lessons soon to become a better rider and perhaps help at brandings while on a horse instead of ground crew.
