Hi, my name is Brayden Sims I am 15 years old and this is my lamb, Pearl. I have been in Schaffert 4-H for ten years. I have done many projects over my 4-H career such as; archery, sheep, sport shooting, herpetology, entomology, rabbits, rocketry, chickens, bowling, and disc golf. 4-H as a whole has helped me grow and become who I am today. It has taught me responsibility by raising and showing animals. This is my 5th year showing a lamb for 4-H. I purchased my lamb in January of this year. My lamb is a Hampshire/suffix ewe that I feed twice a day and include alfalfa to help with digestion. I walk Pearl 4-5 times a week, and we practice bracing for the ring. My lamb was 122 pounds as of May 2nd and should reach 130-135 as a market weight on the day of the online auction. I was really looking forward to showing my lamb in the senior class at the fair this year since I am now in high school. Due to the Covid-19, the Glenn County Fair and JLA were canceled. I would like to thank the Glenn County Ag. Expo for putting on this auction and supporting all the hard work that 4-H and FFA members have been put in raising their livestock.
