Lot # 16 - Tag 359 - Waylon Miller
Comments:
Hello, my name is Waylon Miller, and this is third year in the FFA program. I was born and raised on a small ranch outside of Susanville. I enjoy competing on FFA teams and traveling the state. Outside of the FFA program I enjoy competing in cross country and track. I spend my weekends relaxing with my dog and working with my animals for fair. Last time that I showed I had an Angus X, this year I decided to switch it up with my Hereford X named John. John, unlike my past steers has a huge personality. He likes to chase my dogs out of the corral, buck and jump when he gets fed, and lick everyones hands. John is sort of like me in a way because when its time to get down to work he kind of drags his feet. With school being cancelled early I had a lot of time to spend with John. Ive learned pretty much everything about him, especially that he likes his tail scratched. When John was last weighed, he was 1,275 which makes him the smallest steer I have shown. Dont let his weight fool you, John has a very large appetite and he has gotten plenty of feed to help him finish. John has a smaller frame, but I can guarantee that the meat he gives will be amazing. I can say this because Ive won the carcass contest in the past, which means I know how to feed steers.
