Hello, my name is Saydee Mueller, I am 14 years old and this is my 6th year in Lake 4-H. This is my first year raising meat rabbits. I have had the joy of raising 3 meat rabbits!This year, I decided to take on a challenge and raise something different which has been fun, but a personal stretch. Raising rabbits has been a huge change as I have raised hogs the past 5 years. My bunnys names are Eny, Meny, Miny and Moe. There breed is Californians, which have cute dark grey ears and noses. Learning how to feed and manage their weights have been fun but a learning curve. I cant get over how fast they grow! Ive also learned that rabbit meat is a great protein source for those with dietary issues. This year has been very interesting for everyone. It has been a year to overcome and make the best of what has been presented to you. Im very thankful that our community has graciously come together to ensure were able to have a livestock show and auction. Some communities havent been so fortunate. Unfortunately, I have not been able to play sports since Covid hit. I was playing on the varsity softball team at Lassen High School. We were able to play one tournament before our school had to cancel the season. Im looking forward to going back to school and being able to get back to sports. I wholeheartedly appreciate the communitys support.
