Hello there, My name is Kayla Oliver this is my 2nd year showing rabbits at Lassen County Fair. I have been in FFA at Lassen High School for 2 years, I started showing interest in showing market rabbits when I found out it was an option for our SAE projects and I always loved the idea of trying something new. My first year was an amazing experience, I was given four Californian rabbits who were fat and happy little guys, three of them were bought for market and one of them named Zero went to a little girl who had fallen in love with my rabbit and was given to her as a pet. This year is a little different experience, but its going great, I am going to be a Senior this year in high school, I am 17 years of age. My rabbits are New Zealand Whites. They weigh about 4lbs each. This year I let them roam my back yard for about an hour and made sure that their cage was always clean. They stay in a garage where they are always cool, if it was nice outside I would put ice packs in their cage and let them enjoy the nice day. I hope this year can be another one for the book and my market rabbits will be market ready. I have worked very hard for them to gain weight and be happy.
