Hi, I am Claire Robinson! I am 14 years old and I have just finished my freshman year at Lassen High School. I am in FFA and I am showing a hog at the Lassen County Fair this year. This is my first year to ever sell hogs, before I used to sell market rabbits. I enjoyed showing small animals but I wanted to change it up and show bigger animals. The hog I am showing/selling this year is a Yorkshire Berkshire cross and his name is Squealer. Since fair is going to be virtual and our summer break started early this year, I had more time to bond with my hog and train him as well. Last school year in FFA I was on the Vet Science Team and the Parliamentary Procedure Team. Both teams were a very fun experience, I learned a lot, and I grew from the public speaking part in Parliamentary Procedure. I look forward to doing these teams next year as well. Before I did FFA I used to breed and show market rabbits for fair with 4-H. I still participate in 4-H and enjoy being in the rabbit and cooking projects. Outside of 4-H and FFA I enjoy playing volleyball and riding my bike. I also enjoy baking and putting my own twist in things. The money I earn from my hog I sell this year will be put into raising another hog or sheep for next years show and auction. I look forward to being able to be at fair and auction my animal.
