My name is Emily Barker and I am 9 years old. I live in Janesville, Ca. and this is my first year showing in the Lassen County Fair with Lake 4-H. My market pig is named Ham Solo, tag #110. She is a Yorkshire Hampshire cross, She weighed a hefty 253 pounds when I tagged her on July 2nd and she is well on her way to 270 pounds or more. She is ornery and likes to lay around. Sometimes she chases me and nips at my pants when I am trying to feed her.My favorite experience while raising Ham Solo was rubbing her belly and seeing her roll onto her side.While home during quarantine I was thankful to have extra time for my pig chores. I wasnt as bored as I would have been.A fun fact about me is I really like dragons and caring for our animals. When I grow up I want to continue to care for animals as a veterinarian.Thank you for supporting me and my efforts in raising this beautiful pig.
